For a long time, RTC has been dedicated to improving the lives of children in Romania and Tanzania through partnerships with friends, institutions, and individuals. Among these remarkable supporters, we must acknowledge our friend Mark Yeazel and his church Eaton Community Church.
Mark has spent significant time in Tanzania, including a few months this summer spent collaborating with Eternal Families and RTC-Tanzania to oversee various projects aimed at enhancing the lives of children at Eternal Families Village. We were blessed to have Mark with us, bringing years of experience in dairy farming. He is committed 100% to the construction of our Eternal Families Tanzania Dairy Farm which, upon completion, will address our village's milk supply challenges and enhance nutrition crucial for child development. Initial steps that have been taken, include securing the 9-acre farm with fencing for security and biosecurity measures. Construction recently started for the herdsman's house following receipt of blueprints for the dairy building.
Furthermore, we are grateful for the purchase of a three-wheel cargo motorcycle, This acquisition will significantly reduce transportation costs for small loads to the farm and throughout Eternal Families Tanzania. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Eaton Community Church for their commitment to fund the drilling of three wells: one at Eternal Families Village (240 meters deep, producing 13,000 liters per hour), one at the dairy farm (200 meters deep), and one at our farm in Mabama. These wells will ensure ample water supply for Eternal Families Village and our farms.
Mark also ensured comprehensive soil testing for all our farms before the planting season, collaborating closely with the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI). This partnership explores various aspects of farming, including the adaptation of cassava as both a food security crop and a commercial enterprise to increase income for our farms. Please join us in prayer for Mark and the Tanzania team as they seek the right cattle to provide fresh milk for the children over the years, as they hire a knowledgeable and passionate herdsman, and as they work alongside the Tanzania board of directors.
