Two RTC teams are currently in Romania! Their efforts over the last two weeks have been crucial in building up the local church and providing intensive training to ministry leaders across Europe.
Spring VBS & Community Events
A team from East 91st Street Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana USA held a spring VBS at RTC's church plant, Agape, last week. Nearly 80 children participated! They also hosted a women’s evening for 35 ladies, conducted a community prayer walk, encouraged the Ukrainian Refugee Church, and visited with orphan children in that area.
Praxis 2: Leadership Development Training for Pastors & Ministry Leaders
Another team, made up of Bible scholars and church leaders from Indiana, Tennessee, and Maryland, are currently teaching at the 2nd annual leadership conference (Praxis), hosted by the Eastern European Bible College. Over 100 students from Romania, Ukraine and Moldova are attending this intensive week of practical and theological training.
Here is what some of the attendees are saying:
"Praxis has opened up a space in blending cultures to ask the right questions and listen to each other." – Dr. Marius Ban, President EEBC
“I have been encouraged by the body of Christ from around the world, and have noticed our struggles are similar and we can encourage one another." – Sara Shetterley
"It's refreshing to be among people that want to learn." – Dr. Roger Clark
"We are surrounded by people who are investing their lives in the Kingdom, and I have felt so insignificant in their presence." – Dr. Ron Kastens
"Josh Shinault helped me have a deeper understanding of media and ministry." – Timea Petrica, student
"Always great to spend time with pastors who are looking for ways to connect people to Jesus. Praxis provided that opportunity." – Dr. Kip Lines
RTC is thankful to have maintained a close relationship with the Romanian church through relational ministry initiatives like this, despite setbacks from Covid and the Ukrainian War.
Seeing both volunteers and ministry leaders return to support and strengthen the local church after five years of limited engagement is thrilling! Thank you to our RTC supporters for making events like these possible!
