Lessons Learned in 2020

By Adi Galiger, Pastor of Impact Church in Romania

2020 is gone, but the lessons we learned by God’s grace are here to stay!  We’ve learned lessons about His endless love, renewed goodness, and everlasting faithfulness.

I want to share a lesson we learned during 2020—one that is old and new at the same time!  We know some of the principles of God’s Kingdom, but it’s always surprisingly fresh when we rediscover them again.

Towards the end of March, we felt God calling our church to be a blessing to those that are at risk during the lockdown.  One of the organizations we decided to help was Caminul Felix, a Christian home for abandoned children.  The resources we needed to help them came in quickly and we were able to bless them, just as God had asked us to.

However, as we were a blessing to them, they became a blessing to us!  Caminul Felix let our church use their field for our Sunday gatherings.

The lesson is this: as we decided to be a blessing, we were blessed.  As we were generous, we were generously helped and blessed. We can never out-give God.  When other churches had to cancel services for months and months, we were able to have in-person services all year-round.  As a result, people worshiped together and served the community.

Today, we pray we can apply this lesson in everyday life.  We pray that as a church family we can bless those around us.

We thank God for our friends at Remember the Children who found ways to be near, even when that was physically impossible.  You are the very nature of a true friend.  THANK YOU!
