ICOM 2019 Recap

By Andy Baker

It was a joy this past week to be at the International Conference on Missions. This year, the annual event was held in Kansas City, and there were representatives from missions from all over the world to share their experiences.

Each day of the conference was filled with inspirational speakers and engaging workshops.  There’s an exhibit hall where folks can meet various missions organizations and find ways to get involved. Remember the Children has an exhibit every year and we were thrilled to connect with many of our partners.

I was honored to be part of a workshop about development with my friends from CDF Capital Foundation, and I was invited to be a part of the Continuation Committee for ICOM. Both of these experiences were a blessing as I got to be in the company of some amazing people.

Our board met during this time, and it was our joy to celebrate the best year in our history. I'm grateful for our board and the time they take to not only provide governance for RtC, but also to represent the organization at this event.

ICOM is a highly encouraging experience and a time that directs us towards the next year.  Next year, it will be held in Indianapolis.  Make plans to join us November 18-22, 2020!
