By Jennifer Mayhill and Natalie Barentson
Have you ever received a piece of mail from Remember the Children? Perhaps it was a newsletter, fundraising piece, or House of Hope update. If you did, it most likely was from Jennifer, our Director of Communications!
Jennifer has been involved with RtC for years and has blessed the organization with her talents of proofreading, designing, and managing printed materials. We’re so thankful she's with us!
We wanted you to meet one of our team members and hear her heart for the kids, the organization, and YOU! You can read Jennifer’s interview below.
What do you do for RtC?
I’ve done several things over the years, from managing social media to sending out email updates to designing banners and print materials. These days, my work is focused on designing, copy editing, and print managing some of the print projects for RtC, such as appeal letters, newsletters, and the House of Hope update we recently created.
How did you get involved with RtC?
My husband first met Andy through his work with FAME back in the early 2000s. We got to know each other at the North American Christian Convention and ICOM back when it was the National Missionary Convention. When I began a communications consulting business in 2006, Andy became my first client, and I’ve been honored to support the work God has been doing through him and RtC ever since. One of my favorite projects has been to work on anything with child sponsorships. It’s been fun to see so many kids grow up over the years, knowing they’ve heard the Gospel and been shown the love of Jesus.
What’s your vision for the organization?
I love seeing people enter into a relationship with Jesus through the ministry of RtC! May everyone who comes into contact with the work RtC does continue to hear the Word, put their faith in Christ, and take steps to become more like Jesus in every aspect of life.
What’s one thing you want to tell supporters?
Thank you for your encouragement and generosity! Keep praying and giving and sending encouraging notes and (when possible) going to serve! It can be easy to think one gift or one note doesn’t mean all that much, but it truly makes a difference, especially to Andy, knowing that there are many others who care and who stand with what God is doing to reach more people for His kingdom!
