Monica was raised in a Romanian orphanage, and when she was 12 she was given to a farmer as a servant. Though she never went to school, Monica eventually learned to read and write at our church using the Bible. She loves the Bible and reads a lot. Today, she is a grown woman, married with two kids, a boy and a girl. She received Christ and was baptized seven years ago at the age of 33. Since then, Monica has been a very special member of the Faith Church from Tetchea.
Though she is very poor, Monica never comes to beg, not even when she is sick. We always find about her needs from others! She works by day, cleaning the house, yard, field, or whatever is needed. She is very hardworking, but most important she is trustworthy.
A couple of months ago, Monica had a test from the Lord which she passed wonderfully. On the side of the road, she found a bag with 20,000 euros, identification cards, and credit cards. She sought out the person who had lost his bag, and in front of some witnesses, she returned the entire bag without receiving anything in return. Those in her family mocked her and called her crazy. Even some of the Christians said that they would have not been able to give the money back.
When we have evangelistic nights, Monica always brings a lot of people to church. I am so thankful for her. She is God’s wonderful masterpiece! I am praying we will have more people in the church like her. The church would grow so much. I confess that I decided to remain the pastor in Tetchea after Brother Andy Baker told me that for one soul like hers, God put me here and it is worth staying!
