COVID Can't Stop Good!

By Andy Baker

This past week has been one where we have seen some normalcy return to our ministry life. The continued response of our many partners to support the ongoing efforts of Remember the Children has been heroic. Not only have our regular budget needs been met during the pandemic, but we have seen an increase in our monthly income which has put us in a position this week to help in some extraordinary ways.

Daniel and Claudia Bagosi contacted me about the needs in the community of Santandrei where Remember the Children has a partnership with them in an ongoing discipleship and education program. Many of the families in this community have lost their ability to work over the last couple of months. As well, Romania was on a country wide lockdown, which limited our ability to minister as we would have desired. As the lockdown lifted this week, Daniel and Claudia responded by utilizing the generosity of Remember the Children partners to provide substantial food assistance to seventy families in need.

I also contacted our leaders in Tanzania this week, because I was burdened for an orphanage that I had visited in February prior to my return home. Tanzania in recent days has seen an increase in Covid-19 cases, and I asked how the children in this specific place were doing. Our team leader responded and said that they needed help. Today through the generosity of Remember the Children partners we were able to deliver masks, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and much needed food to these children.

Today as we enter into another week, I just want to give thanks to God for providing resources for Remember the Children to minister in far greater ways than we had planned. If you are one of our ministry partners who has joined us to make a difference in the lives of children, today we celebrate YOU, and I hope these stories help you envision the many lives that are being impacted because you chose to be generous with those with whom God has entrusted us.

Be encouraged this Sunday morning. Our hashtag #CovidCantStopGOOD became a reality this week, because even in the midst of a pandemic, generosity is ALIVE!

Be blessed!
