"Tree of Life" by Jerry Taylor (Unframed)
“The Baobab tree of Tanzania is called the tree of life because it is the retainer of water even in a drought. The trees become huge and also bare edible fruit. We were on a safari for two days, when this image was taken, after almost three weeks of working with the parents and children in Tabora's first Eternal Family compound of ten homes and school. The community has approximately one-hundred and fifteen orphaned children with a married husband and wife in each home as parents. The compound is truly a "Tree of Life" for these orphaned children.”
Jerry and his wife Sylvia have participated in many trips with Remember the Children. Over the years, Jerry’s skill of photography has been a gift as he observed and captured moments that added a depth of meaning and understanding. We are thankful for the generous donation of 12 of Jerry’s pieces to raise funds for orphan care and church planting in Romania and Tanzania. 11 of the 12 are framed between sheets of glass with open edging and attached wire. The dimensions for all pieces are 17’’ by 23’’ including the mat and frame.
Jerry is a retired Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and a former educator and administrator in both public and private schools. He also taught Photography in Harford Community College's Continuing Education Program.
He currently shoots with a Nikon D850 and assorted Nikon lenses; he also uses the Nikon Coolpix P1000 super zoom.
