"Cabin in Carpathian Mountains" by Jerry Taylor
"Cabin in Carpathian Mountains" by Jerry Taylor
“It was freezing cold and hoarfrost was clinging to every frozen surface. If the viewer looks in the lower left corner of the image they will see a full size cabin. The fence, stretched out to the right, is in sharp focus. The scale of the cabin and fencing allows the viewer to catch a glimpse of the incredible vastness of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. This image was voted the people's "Best in Show" in a solo photography presentation of 63 images entitled "People, Places, and Portions — Compassionate travel on five Continents."
Jerry Taylor and his wife Sylvia have participated in many trips with Remember the Children. Over the years, Jerry’s skill of photography has been a gift as he observed and captured moments that added a depth of meaning and understanding. We are thankful for the generous donation of 12 of Jerry’s pieces to raise funds for orphan care and church planting in Romania and Tanzania. 11 of the 12 are framed between sheets of glass with open edging and attached wire. The dimensions for all pieces are 17’’ by 23’’ including the mat and frame.
Jerry is a retired Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and a former educator and administrator in both public and private schools. He also taught Photography in Harford Community College's Continuing Education Program.
He currently shoots with a Nikon D850 and assorted Nikon lenses; he also uses the Nikon Coolpix P1000 super zoom.
